Rebobinando: The Doors, el mito
En el universo musical absolutamente nadie podrá negar jamás que si hay un grupo, un cantante o una imagen que deba ser calificada de mito, es la del grupo californiano The Doors y su icónico frontman Jim Morrison.
Dentro de su breve pero a la vez intensa discografía, ya que fueron seis álbumes de estudio en seis años, desde la formación de la banda hasta la prematura muerte del rey lagarto.
En 1966 la banda formada por Morrison, Manzarek, Krieger y Densmore, empezó a tocar en uno de los locales más en boga por aquel entonces, Whiskhey a Go Go, donde gracias a la insistencia del cantante de Love, el presidente de Elektra Records, Jac Holzman, los fichó después de que Holzman y el productor Rothchild vieran dos de sus actuaciones en el mismo garito. Algo que les vino muy bien puesto que a los tres días de la firma y en la presentación de una de sus míticas canciones “The End”, el dueño los echara al llegar a la parte que más controversia generaría, y que acompañaría al grupo en toda su historia, y le daría una marca, una imagen y una personalidad de cara a los medios: «Father? Yes son?, I want to kill you», «Mother? I want to fuck you».
Dentro de su primer disco homónimo (1967) podemos encontrar varias de sus más importantes obras, desde su single Break On Through ( to the other side), hasta las emblemáticas Light My Fire y The End. Pero todas ellas son de alguna forma clásicos e incluso himnos, Alabama Song (Whisky bar), así como su canción favorita para interpretar en un escenario Back Door Man.
Señoras y señores, deben darse cuenta de que si escuchan este disco, pueden estar seguros de que se encuentran ante uno de los mejores discos de estudio. Grabado en sólo dos semanas, algunas canciones sólo necesitaron una toma, logrando una pureza que se transmite de una forma brutal, agitará su interior y se verá así mismo cuestionándose algo que creía asumido.
